Our Story
Easy CCTV was founded in 2013 by Sheldon, a Pretoria East local with a straightforward belief: security camera installations in South Africa were being done badly, overcharged for, and abandoned the moment the last cable was tied off. Clients were left with systems they didn’t understand, apps they couldn’t use, and customer support that disappeared after the invoice was paid.
The solution was simple — do the opposite. Arrive on time. Install neatly. Configure everything properly. Show the client how their system works before leaving. Answer the phone afterwards.
More than a decade later, that philosophy has not changed. Easy CCTV remains owner-operated, Pretoria East based, and built on the kind of reputation that only comes from doing the work correctly — every time, for every client, regardless of whether the job is a 3-camera home installation in Garsfontein or a 24-camera commercial system in a Centurion warehouse.

What We Believe About Security Camera Installations
Configuration matters more than hardware
A Hikvision AcuSense camera installed with incorrect detection zones, factory-default sensitivity settings, and no notification schedule will generate just as many false alerts as the cheapest camera on the market. The hardware is only part of the solution. The configuration — the detection zones, the schedules, the alert thresholds, the user permissions — is what determines whether a system actually protects you or merely records events you discover the morning after.
We spend more time configuring systems than most installers spend on the entire job. Every detection zone is drawn around your specific property layout. Every notification schedule reflects how your property is actually used. Every user gets the right access level for their role. This is not extra effort — it is what the job actually requires.
An installation is not complete until you receive your first notification
We have a simple internal measure of whether a job is done: has the client received a live push notification on their phone, confirmed it shows the correct camera, and confirmed they understand what triggered it? Until that happens, the job is not finished. We do not leave a property until it is.
This sounds obvious. In practice, a large number of CCTV installations across South Africa end with cameras mounted, cables connected, and a DVR or NVR sitting in a cupboard — with the client having no mobile access, no configured alerts, and no real understanding of what their system can do. We see it regularly when clients call us to sort out systems installed by someone else.
Honest pricing protects both sides
We quote hardware and installation separately. Every line item is visible. Conduit and trunking pipe is billed on completion based on actual usage — not estimated upfront. This approach means clients know exactly what they are paying for, and we are held accountable for every rand on the invoice. It also means there is no incentive for us to pad a quote with inflated materials estimates, because we only charge for what was actually used.
