Our Story
Sheldon started Easy CCTV in 2013, after years of watching how badly CCTV was being done in South Africa. Systems were overpriced, slapped up in a hurry, and forgotten the minute the last cable was tied off. People were left with cameras they did not understand, an app nobody had shown them how to use, and an installer who stopped answering the phone once the invoice was paid.
The fix was simple: do the opposite. Arrive when we say we will. Install neatly. Set everything up properly. Walk the client through their system before we leave. And answer the phone afterwards.
More than a decade on, none of that has changed. We are still owner-operated, still based in Pretoria East, and still building the kind of reputation that only comes from getting the work right, on every job, whether it is a 3-camera home in Garsfontein or a 24-camera commercial system in a Centurion warehouse.

What We Believe About Security Camera Installations
Configuration matters more than hardware
A Hikvision AcuSense camera with its detection zones drawn wrong, the sensitivity left on factory defaults and no notification schedule will throw just as many false alerts as the cheapest camera on the shelf. The hardware is only half the story. The configuration, the detection zones and schedules and alert thresholds and user permissions, is what decides whether a system actually protects you or just quietly records things you find out about the next morning.
We spend more time setting a system up than a lot of installers spend on the whole job. Detection zones are drawn around your actual property. Schedules match how the place is really used. Each person gets the access level that suits their role. That is not us going the extra mile, it is simply what the job needs.
An installation is not complete until you receive your first notification
We have one simple test for whether a job is done: has the client had a live push notification land on their phone, checked that it shows the right camera, and understood what set it off? Until that has happened, the job is not finished, and we do not pack up and leave.
It sounds obvious. In practice, plenty of CCTV installations around South Africa end with the cameras up, the cables run, and a recorder sitting in a cupboard while the owner has no app, no alerts set, and no real idea what the system can do. We see it all the time when people call us to sort out a system someone else put in.
Honest pricing protects both sides
We quote hardware and installation separately, with every line showing. Conduit and trunking is billed on what actually gets used once the job is done, not guessed at upfront. That way you can see exactly what you are paying for, and we are on the hook for every rand on the invoice. It also means we have no reason to pad a quote with inflated materials, because we only charge for what went in.
We are not the cheapest installer in Pretoria East or Centurion, and we do not pretend to be. We are the best value, which is a different thing. A system that runs properly for five years works out cheaper than one that dies in eighteen months and has to be replaced.
After-sales support is not optional

Easy CCTV is Sheldon and a small, experienced team of installation technicians. We are not a franchise. There is no head office, no rotating crew of subcontractors you have never met, and no call centre sitting between you and the person who did your install.
Sheldon quotes the job, his team installs it. You phone afterwards, Sheldon answers. Something needs sorting under warranty, the same crew that fitted it comes back. That kind of accountability is not a slogan, it is the only way we know to produce work we are happy to put our name on.
We are Pretoria East locals. We drive past our own installations every day, which is a good reason to do them properly.
