CCTV quotes in Pretoria and Gauteng

How to get a CCTV quote in Pretoria

To get a CCTV quote from Easy CCTV, send a WhatsApp to 062 894 7138 and book a free site visit. I walk the property with you, check what each camera would actually see day and night, and send an itemised written quote within 24 hours, built around your property and your budget.

Free site visits across Pretoria East, Centurion, Midrand and Johannesburg. Updated October 2026.

How the quoting process works

  1. Send a message to book the site visit

WhatsApp is quickest. Tell me the suburb and roughly what you want covered, and we pick a date and time that suits you.

  2. We walk the property together

The site visit is free and takes about 30 minutes for a normal home. We look at entry points, cable routes, where the recorder will live, and what each camera position will realistically show you at night. Ask me anything while we walk.

We also talk budget. A R10,000 system and a R50,000 system solve different problems, and knowing which end you are aiming at means the design fits from the start.

  3. You receive an itemised written quote

Within 24 hours of the visit. Exact camera models, the recorder, storage and installation, all listed separately. If you want to compare two options, say WiFi against a full wired system, I quote both so you can see the difference side by side.

What I check on a CCTV site visit

A quote is only as good as the inspection behind it. These are the things that change the design, and the price, once I see the property.

  • Entry points and approach routes. Gates, walls, driveways and the paths someone would actually take, so cameras face where people come from rather than where they end up.
  • Night lighting. Street lights, security lights and dark corners decide whether a standard camera is enough or whether colour night vision is worth it.
  • Cable routes and distances. Roof access, conduit, paving and how far each camera sits from the recorder. Long runs and hard surfaces are where most quoting guesswork goes wrong.
  • Recorder position and power. A cool, secure spot near power and your router, out of sight of anyone who gets inside.
  • How long you want footage kept. Two weeks and two months of recording need very different storage.
  • Lightning and surge exposure. Highveld storms take out more CCTV equipment than anything else, so exposed runs get planned accordingly.
  • WiFi strength, if we are looking at a WiFi system, measured where the cameras will actually go.
  • Estate and complex rules. Many estates and body corporates have rules on where cameras may point and what can be mounted on outside walls.

Why I ask about your budget

Not to spend it. Budget tells me which kind of system to design, so you are not quoted for something that was never going to fit. Fixed-price packages are the entry point, and a custom quote after the site visit covers everything beyond that.

Under R10,000

Entry-level systems for smaller homes and complexes. TP-Link Tapo WiFi packages start at R5,900 with no data cabling, and Hikvision Turbo HD specials start at R7,500 for 4 wired cameras.

R10,000 to R20,000

Wired IP systems with AI detection that tells a person apart from a moving branch. TP-Link VIGI AI packages start at R10,900, and Hikvision AcuSense AI installation starts at R19,900. Most three-bedroom homes land in this band.

R20,000 to R35,000

Colour night vision, more cameras, larger or double-storey properties. Hikvision ColorVu installation starts at R24,900 and gives clear faces and number plates after dark rather than grey shapes.

R35,000 and up

Smallholdings, multiple buildings and business premises, usually ten cameras or more.

Your message: Hi Sheldon, I would like to arrange a site visit for a CCTV quote.

What your written quote includes

  • The exact camera models, and where each one goes.
  • The recorder and hard drive, sized to how long you want footage kept, or memory cards for a WiFi system.
  • Cabling, mounting and installation, with hardware and labour listed separately.
  • Conduit and trunking billed on actual usage after the job, not estimated upfront.
  • Setup of the viewing app on your phone, so you can watch live and play back footage before I leave.
  • Warranty terms: 3-year South African warranty on Hikvision, 2-year warranty on TP-Link, and a 12-month workmanship warranty on our installation.

Worth thinking about before the visit

None of this is required. It just makes the visit faster and the quote sharper.

  • Which parts of the property worry you most, and whether anything has happened there before.
  • Whether you mainly want to watch live on your phone, or want footage to go back to afterwards.
  • Whether there is an existing system, even an old or broken one. Sometimes the cabling can be reused.
  • Where the router and power sit, and whether there is a cupboard or roof space for the recorder.

Who does the site visit

I do. I am Sheldon Kearney, owner of Easy CCTV. I started the business in Pretoria East in 2013, and we have installed over 7,500 cameras across Gauteng since. I walk every property and write every quote myself, and my team of installation technicians does the install. You deal with the person who designed your system, not a call centre. CCTV quote questions

Is the CCTV site visit free?

Yes. Site visits ahead of a new installation are free, with no obligation to go ahead.

How long does a CCTV site visit take?

About 30 minutes for a normal home. Larger properties take longer because there is more ground to walk.

How quickly will I get my CCTV quote?

Within 24 hours of the site visit, as a fully itemised written quote.

Can you quote for CCTV without a site visit?

Fixed-price packages can be quoted without a visit. Custom systems need a site visit, because quoting over the phone means guessing at cable runs and camera angles, and the figure changes once the property is seen.

Why do you ask about budget before quoting?

Budget tells me which kind of system to design. A R10,000 system and a R50,000 system solve different problems, so knowing the range up front means the quote fits your property and what you want to spend.

How soon can installation happen after I accept the quote?

Usually within a few days, depending on stock and the size of the job. Most residential installations are finished in a single day.

Which areas do you do CCTV site visits in?

Pretoria East is home base, with regular work in Centurion, Midrand and Johannesburg.

Which CCTV brands do you quote on?

Mainly Hikvision, see Hikvision CCTV installation, with TP-Link VIGI as the wired value option and TP-Link Tapo for WiFi systems. Which one suits you depends on the property and the budget, and that is part of what we work out on the site visit.

Can you reuse my old CCTV cabling?

Often, yes. Existing coax can usually be reused with a Hikvision Turbo HD upgrade if it is in sound condition. IP systems need network cable, but old cable routes and camera positions still save time. I test the cabling on the site visit and quote accordingly.

Do I need to be home for the site visit?

Ideally, yes. The most useful part is the conversation while we walk the property together.
