Where Would 8 Cameras Usually Be Installed?
An 8 camera system covers both the outside and selected inside areas of a property. A typical layout includes the front gate, driveway, front door, garage, back entrance, side passage, yard, and one or two important indoor or covered areas. We place every camera where it makes practical sense, so access points are covered and blind spots are reduced.
This price includes standard installation and a 200m RG59 coax cable allowance. Extra cable, extra conduit, difficult roof access, long cable runs, extra power points or special mounting requirements may affect the final price. Easy CCTV will confirm everything clearly before installation.
Is Turbo HD the Right Choice?
Turbo HD is our most affordable wired option: genuine Hikvision cameras and DVR on coax, recording continuously to a central hard drive, on a 3-year South African warranty. It is the right call for budget-conscious installs and for upgrading older systems on existing coax. If false alerts from animals and weather are the problem you want to solve, step up to AI detection with TP-Link VIGI from R10,900 or Hikvision AcuSense from R19,900. If running cable is the problem, TP-Link Tapo WiFi cameras start at R5,900.
8 Camera CCTV Special FAQs
Does the 8 camera CCTV special include installation?
Yes. The package includes standard installation, 200m of RG59 coax cable, the DVR, 2TB hard drive, cameras, Hik-Connect app setup, testing and handover.
Can I view the cameras on my phone?
Yes. Mobile viewing is set up on the Hik-Connect app before we leave, so you can watch live and recorded footage from anywhere with internet.
Is 8 cameras enough for my property?
For most standard homes, offices, workshops and small businesses, 8 cameras give practical all-round coverage. Larger commercial sites or properties with several buildings may need the 16 camera package.
What cameras are included?
This package includes 4 Hikvision DS-2CE16D0T-EXIPF 2MP bullet cameras for outdoor positions and 4 Hikvision DS-2CE76D0T-EXIPF 2MP turret cameras for covered positions, all with 20m infrared night vision.
How long will the system record for?
The 2TB surveillance hard drive typically holds 2 to 4 weeks of continuous recording before overwriting the oldest footage, depending on camera count and settings.
Can I reuse my existing coax cabling?
Usually, yes. Turbo HD runs on RG59 coax, so an older analogue system can often be upgraded by replacing the cameras and DVR while keeping sound existing cable runs. We test the cabling during the free site inspection.
Does this package have AI detection?
No. Turbo HD uses standard motion detection, which can trigger on animals, weather and shadows. For AI human and vehicle detection on a wired system, the cheapest route is a TP-Link VIGI package from R10,900, or Hikvision AcuSense from R19,900.
Can I upgrade this package later?
Yes. You can add cameras up to the DVR’s 8-channel limit, fit a larger hard drive for longer recording, add extra cable, or move to colour night vision cameras.
