The larger off-grid power kit for serious remote sites

The Solar Caddy 100S-BR works beautifully for a single low-power camera in a sunny location. The Solar Caddy 200S-BR is what you install when one of those constraints does not apply: when the site needs to power more than one camera, when the camera itself has higher power demands (PTZ cameras, ANPR cameras, cameras with strobes and sirens that fire regularly), or when the site has limited winter daylight due to trees, terrain, or south-facing aspect.

Bigger battery means more reserve capacity through cloudy days and shorter daylight hours. Larger solar panel means faster recharge and more headroom for higher-power cameras. The same weather-sealed enclosure, the same camera mounting bracket integration, the same charge controller approach. Just sized for more demanding applications.

What this kit does that the 100S-BR does not

• Larger sealed lithium battery. Roughly double the capacity, supporting multiple cameras or higher-power single units with reasonable winter reserve.
• Larger solar panel. More daily charge capacity, faster recovery from cloudy days, more tolerance for partial shading.
• Same weather-sealed enclosure and integrated mounting. Bigger capacity, same easy install approach.
• Same charge controller architecture. Battery health management for long-life operation.

If a single small camera is all you need

• The Solar Caddy 100S-BR is the smaller, more affordable option for single low-power cameras in good sun. Where it fits the requirements, it is the more cost-effective choice.

The natural pairings

• The DS-2CFS04/4G 2.8mm 4G cellular camera is the standard pairing for off-grid monitoring with both solar kits.
• For multi-camera remote sites, this kit also supports lower-power IP cameras in PoE configurations where a small PoE switch is included in the load.

Sizing for actual site conditions

Solar capacity sizing depends on the specific site: latitude, surrounding terrain, panel orientation, time of year of installation, and the actual power profile of the cameras being supported. Wrong sizing leads to mid-winter system failures that are expensive to diagnose and fix in the field. We do detailed site assessment, sun-exposure analysis, and capacity calculation as part of every solar install.
