Where Do 6 Pan-Tilt Cameras Go?
Six cameras give full perimeter coverage on larger properties: typically one at the gate, one on the driveway or parking area, and the other four spread around the building or along the boundary walls. Each camera pans and tilts to follow movement, so long walls and open yards stay covered. The system runs from two Hikvision 12V power supplies, each feeding three cameras. If you need more than six cameras, a wired system from our wired CCTV specials is the better architecture.
This package price includes standard installation and a 30m power cable allowance per camera. Extra cable, difficult roof access, weak WiFi signal areas, additional network work, extra power points or special mounting requirements may affect the final price. What is the difference between the 6 camera Full HD and 4K packages?
The Full HD package (R15,900) uses the Tapo C500: 1080p resolution, 360 degree pan with 130 degree tilt, person detection with motion tracking, infrared night vision and a sound alarm. The 4K package (R22,900) uses the Tapo C560WS: 4K 8MP resolution, starlight colour night vision, a 99dB siren with spotlights, person, vehicle and pet detection, local facial recognition, WiFi 6 and an Ethernet port for hardwiring. The upgrade costs R7,000 more.
Can 6 WiFi cameras cover a full perimeter?
On most larger homes, stands and small commercial yards, yes. Six pan-tilt cameras placed at the gate, the driveway and around the boundary cover the full outside of the property. Does each camera record on its own?
Yes. Each camera records to its own 64GB memory card, so no NVR or DVR is needed and recording continues even if your WiFi drops. You view live and recorded footage through the Tapo app on your phone.
How are the cameras powered?
WiFi cameras still need power. We run a power cable from a Hikvision 12V power supply to each camera, with a 30m allowance per camera and a sealed junction box at each mounting point. This package uses 2 Hikvision 12V power supplies.
Can the cameras warn off intruders?
Yes. The Full HD Tapo C500 plays a custom sound alarm when it detects a person. The 4K Tapo C560WS adds a 99dB siren with spotlights that switch on automatically. Both have two-way audio, so you can speak to visitors through the camera from your phone.
Why does the 6 camera package use two power supplies?
Each Hikvision 12V power supply runs up to four cameras. With six cameras, two supplies share the load at three cameras each, which keeps the voltage stable over the cable runs and leaves headroom for the siren, spotlights and pan-tilt motors.
What warranty do the cameras carry?
