Most indoor dome cameras are passive. They watch, they record, they notify. After-hours, when the shop is empty and someone has come in through a back door, the camera sends an alert to your phone and starts recording. By the time anyone responds, the intruder has had two minutes uninterrupted in your space.

The Hikvision DS-2CD2346G2H-IS2U/SL 2.8mm changes that timing. Built into the discreet dome housing is a high-intensity white strobe and an audible siren. When AcuSense classifies a person entering the camera’s detection zone after hours, the strobe fires and the siren sounds at the camera position itself. Most opportunistic intruders turn around immediately. They came in expecting a passive recording device and got an active alarm response instead.

For retail shops, small offices, restaurants, and any commercial space where after-hours intrusion is the primary risk and immediate response matters, this is the right camera.

Active deterrent only works when configured properly

The strobe and siren are powerful tools when set up correctly, and a noise-complaint factory when set up badly. Detection zones, sensitivity, and schedule rules all matter.
