The all-in-one NVR for fresh installations

The standard DS-7616NXI-K2 is the 16-channel NVR by itself. The Hikvision DS-7616NXI-K2/16P is the same recorder with a built-in 16-port PoE switch on the back. The /16P designation means every camera connects directly to the recorder over a single Cat6 cable that carries both data and power. No separate PoE switch in the cabinet. No second unit to fail. Cleaner, simpler, more reliable.

For new installations, this is almost always the right call. The price difference between the standard NVR plus a separate PoE switch versus the integrated /16P unit is usually small, and the integrated version eliminates a whole category of installation headache: dodgy switch firmware, mismatched PoE budgets, separate IP addressing for the switch, and the sad day when the switch fails and takes all your cameras offline at once.

For existing installations where a PoE switch is already on site and working, the standard non-PoE version of this NVR is the sensible upgrade path. Otherwise, this is the unit we install.
