The 32-channel NVR with 16-bay storage capacity

Most large installations work fine on 4-bay or 8-bay recorders. Some sites have retention requirements that push past what those storage architectures can comfortably deliver: pharmacies needing months of footage for compliance, body corporate sites with year-plus retention specifications, healthcare facilities with regulatory retention requirements running into multiple years.

The Hikvision DS-9632NI-M16 is what we install when retention is measured at that scale. Sixteen SATA bays. Up to 16TB per drive. 256TB total raw capacity per recorder. Combined with H.265+ compression at the camera level, that capacity translates to year-plus retention on full-time 32-camera recording. The recording side becomes a non-issue: the question is no longer ‘do we have the footage’ but ‘how do we find it.’
