The all-in-one 8-channel NVR for standard homes

This is genuinely the NVR we install most often. The Hikvision DS-7108NI-Q1/8P is the 8-channel version of the Q1 series with a built-in 8-port PoE switch. Eight cameras connect directly to the recorder, each on a single Cat6 cable that carries both data and power. No separate PoE switch in the cabinet, no IP juggling, no second unit to fail.

For standard 6 to 8 camera home installs (which is what most South African suburban properties end up needing) this is the right size, the right capability, and the cleanest installation footprint. We have installed several thousand of these across Pretoria, Centurion, Midrand, and Johannesburg since 2013.
