The 8-channel NVR for medium home installations

It is the 8-channel version of the entry-level Q1 series. Same compact form factor as the 4-channel unit, doubled channel capacity, same low power draw, same Hik-Connect mobile app, same H.265+ compression. The natural step up from a starter 4-channel install when the property has more access points than 4 cameras can sensibly cover.

This is the non-PoE version

For most fresh installs, the DS-7108NI-Q1/8P with the built-in 8-port PoE switch is the better choice. The non-PoE version makes sense when an existing PoE switch is on site, when some of the cameras are Wi-Fi based, or when the installation cabinet is some distance from where the PoE switch needs to live.
