The thermal bullet with fire detection

Thermal cameras detect heat signatures. The same sensor capability that lets a thermal camera detect a person at 2am in fog also lets it detect the heat signature of an early-stage fire. The Hikvision DS-2TD2608-2/QA/FP is the variant of the standard 2608 thermal bullet with built-in fire-point detection enabled and configured: a single camera that handles both perimeter intrusion monitoring and fire monitoring on the same heat-signature sensor.

For warehouses, storage facilities, agricultural buildings, industrial yards, and any installation where fire detection is operationally important, this is the right camera. The fire detection does not replace a proper fire alarm system, but it does provide early-warning detection of unusual heat signatures that can be the first sign of an electrical fault, equipment overheating, or a developing fire.

Fire-detection thermal needs careful configuration

Fire-point detection requires temperature thresholds calibrated for the specific environment, alarm-priority configuration, and clear protocols for distinguishing genuine fire alarms from operational heat signatures (vehicle engines, kitchen equipment, sun-warmed surfaces).
