The 50mm long-range thermal fixed bullet
The Hikvision DS-2TD4137-50/WY is the maximum-range thermal bullet in the standard Hikvision range. 50mm thermal lens for the longest practical narrow-field detection from a fixed-position camera. Companion fixed-camera unit to the steerable DS-2TD4137-50/W thermal PTZ, useful when the detection zone is known and fixed and the steerability premium is not justified.
What this camera is actually good at
- 50mm thermal lens for very-long-range narrow-field thermal detection.
- Heat-signature detection in any light or weather conditions.
- Detection range comparable to PTZ thermal on a fixed mount.
- Smart detection events with refined long-range trigger logic.
- IP67 weather-sealed housing rated for industrial outdoor service.
- Heavy-duty industrial construction.
Where this camera makes the most sense
- Industrial sites with defined long-range detection zones
- Infrastructure monitoring at fixed long-range mounting positions
- Border and high-security applications where the detection zone is known and fixed
- Strategic infrastructure protection
If you want steerable or different feature sets
- The DS-2TD4137-50/W is the steerable thermal PTZ version of this same focal length.
- The DS-2SF8C425MXS-DL is the bispectrum thermal-and-optical PTZ.
- The DS-2TD2608-2/QA is the wide-angle thermal alternative.
Recorder pairings
Pairs with commercial-grade Hikvision NVRs. The flagship DS-9632NXI-I8/S is typical at this level of thermal installation.
Maximum-range fixed thermal is industrial commissioning work
Mounting structural integrity, vibration mitigation, precision aiming with target-zone verification, and integration all matter critically at this level. We do this across Pretoria East, Centurion, Midrand, and Johannesburg, and nationally for industrial and infrastructure contracts. Contact us for maximum-range thermal consultations.

How Hikvision HeatPro thermal cameras work
Thermal cameras detect heat instead of light, seeing through smoke, fog, dust, and total darkness. Watch the technology in action.
