The Hikvision DS-2CD2646G2-IZS is the G2-generation motorised-zoom IP bullet camera. 6MP resolution combined with a motorised 2.8 to 12mm zoom lens you control from the Hik-Connect app or the NVR. Wide-angle when nothing is happening, tight zoom when you want face or number-plate detail at distance. AcuSense AI on top, classifying movement across whatever zoom level the camera is currently set to.

This is the G2 generation of the motorised-zoom range, sitting between the entry-level 4MP DS-2CD2641G0-LIZSU and the current G2H ColorVu version. The right call when you want motorised zoom at 6MP without the ColorVu premium.

What this camera is actually good at

• 6MP resolution. Sharper than the 4MP standard, finer detail when zoomed in on faces, vehicles, and number plates.
• Motorised 2.8 to 12mm zoom. Roughly 4x optical zoom range, controlled remotely from the Hik-Connect app or the NVR menu. Auto-focus refocuses every time the zoom changes.
• AcuSense onboard AI. Human and vehicle classification, regardless of the lens zoom level.
• 120 dB true WDR. Bright-into-dark transitions handled cleanly.
• Long-range IR illumination for total-darkness coverage at the longer focal lengths.
• IP67 weather-sealed housing. Built for full outdoor mounting in Highveld weather.
• H.265+ compression. Storage-efficient at 6MP.

• The DS-2CD2647G2-LZS is an alternative G2 motorised-zoom variant with ColorVu.

For multi-camera setups, this camera works cleanly with the DS-7616NXI-K2 16-channel NVR. Note that motorised-zoom cameras consume more storage when zoomed in, so plan for at least 2TB of storage on systems including one or more zoom cameras.

Motorised zoom only delivers when you can drive it

The motorised zoom adds a layer of complexity to the user experience: setting preset positions, recall locations, and integration with the Hik-Connect mobile app for remote control.
