The TP-Link VIGI NVR1008H is an 8-channel network video recorder designed as the hub of a VIGI IP surveillance system. It handles up to eight high-definition network cameras with continuous local recording, keeping footage on a dedicated surveillance hard drive rather than relying on cloud storage or a monthly subscription.
Efficient recording
H.265+ compression cuts storage and bandwidth requirements substantially against older standards, which means more recording history from the same drive. Recording can run continuously, on a schedule, or on detection events only, depending on how much history you want to keep and how the site is used.
Local viewing and remote access
HDMI and VGA outputs support simultaneous display, so a monitor can be connected at the recorder for local live view and playback. Remote access runs through the VIGI mobile app or the web interface, giving live view, playback and event notifications from anywhere with an internet connection. VIGI Security Manager provides desktop management where a computer-based interface is preferred.
Simple integration
VIGI cameras are discovered and added automatically, which keeps commissioning quick and clean. The recorder handles camera configuration, detection settings and firmware centrally, so there is one place to manage the whole system rather than camera-by-camera setup.

Installation

Every package ships with a 2TB surveillance-grade hard drive already fitted and configured, cameras added and named by position, and the VIGI app set up on your phone before we leave site.
Note that this is an 8-channel recorder. An installation using all eight channels has no spare capacity for future cameras, so if you expect to expand beyond eight positions, a larger recorder should be specified from the start.
