The TP-Link VIGI C340 is a 4MP outdoor bullet network camera built for continuous surveillance on residential and business properties. It records at 2560 x 1440 through a fixed 2.8mm F1.6 lens with a 96.1 degree horizontal field of view, wide enough to cover a driveway, a yard entrance or a shopfront from a single mounting position.
Full-colour night vision with white light assist
The C340 carries two infrared LEDs and two white LEDs, both rated to 30m. It holds full-colour images down to 0.005 Lux using ambient light from street lights and security lights, and switches to its built-in white light in complete darkness so the image stays in colour rather than dropping to monochrome. Clothing colour, vehicle colour and skin tone stay visible, which is exactly what makes night-time footage useful after an incident.
Human and vehicle classification
Onboard AI separates people and vehicles from everything else in the frame, so notifications arrive for events that matter instead of every insect, shadow or moving branch. Smart detection covers line-crossing, region intrusion, region entering and exiting, object abandoned, object removal and camera tampering. Alarm linkage can trigger an audible warning through the built-in speaker and flash the white light on detection, giving real-time deterrence at the camera itself.
Two-way audio
A built-in speaker and microphone provide full two-way audio through the VIGI app. Hear what is happening at the gate and speak back to a visitor, a delivery driver or an intruder from anywhere with an internet connection. This is a standout feature at this price point and one of the main reasons the C340 suits front gates, reception areas and customer-facing positions.
Built for South African conditions
An IP67-rated housing handles Highveld summer storms and dust, with an operating range of -30 to 60 degrees Celsius. Power over Ethernet (802.3af/at) delivers power and data over a single cat5e run, and a 12V DC input is available where PoE is not practical. H.265+ compression keeps bandwidth and storage requirements low, and a microSD slot supports local recording up to 256GB as a backup to the NVR.

Installation
