The friendly indoor Wi-Fi camera
Hikvision is for the boundary wall and the front gate. IMOU is for inside the house. The IMOU Cue 2 (IPC-C32EP) is the 3MP indoor Wi-Fi camera that we end up recommending to every customer who phones asking for a small thing for the kitchen, the nursery, or the home office. Plug it into a normal wall socket, scan the QR code with the IMOU mobile app, connect it to your home Wi-Fi, and within ten minutes you can see what is happening at home from your phone.
Useful for: watching the toddler from another room, keeping an eye on the helper while you are at the office, checking that the dog is not on the couch, and the everyday peace-of-mind of being able to glance at home during the day. Not a replacement for outdoor security cameras, just the friendly indoor companion that fills in the gaps.
What this camera is actually good at
- 3MP resolution. Sharp enough to see what someone is doing across the room.
- Wi-Fi connectivity. No cable runs through walls, no network installer required. Connect it to your home Wi-Fi and it works.
- Two-way audio. Speak to family members, the helper, or the dog from your phone.
- Built-in active siren and strobe alert. Useful when the camera detects motion at unexpected times.
- Night vision. Sees in total darkness when needed.
- SD card recording for local storage of clips, no monthly subscription required.
- IMOU mobile app integration for live view, playback, and alerts on iPhone and Android.
Where this camera belongs in your home
- Nurseries and children’s bedrooms for parents wanting to check on sleeping children

- Home offices as part of a hybrid-working monitoring setup
- Granny flats and guest rooms with the consent of the occupant

If you want a different feature set
- The IMOU Rex VT 5MP is the higher-resolution indoor Wi-Fi step up.
- The IMOU Ranger Dual 6MP is the 6MP pan-and-tilt step up that actually moves to follow what it sees.
- The IMOU Turret SE 2MP is the more affordable indoor turret alternative.
- The IMOU Ranger RC 4MP is the popular pan-and-tilt indoor camera with active tracking.
IMOU vs Hikvision: different tools for different jobs
This is a good place to mention the difference. Hikvision is the brand we install on outdoor boundary walls, gates, and perimeters. It is wired (PoE or coax), the cameras are tougher, and it is built around a single integrated NVR or DVR running 24/7 recording across the property. IMOU is the brand for inside the house: Wi-Fi based, plug-and-play, app-driven, and well-suited to people who want to set up a few cameras themselves without an installer call. Most homes that take security seriously end up running both brands together: Hikvision outside, IMOU inside.
Self-install or installer-fitted?
The Cue 2 is genuinely easy to self-install. Power socket, IMOU app, QR code, done. If you would rather have someone else handle the setup (especially if you want it integrated with the rest of your CCTV system), we cover Pretoria East, Centurion, Midrand, and Johannesburg.
