The 4G cellular PTZ for sites without internet
If the standard DS-2CFS04/4G 4G cellular bullet camera solves the internet-connectivity problem at remote sites, the Hikvision DS-2CFSP4/4G adds the PTZ steerability on top of it. Built-in 4G LTE modem with standard SIM card slot. Pan, tilt, and zoom motion. Hik-Connect mobile app integration. Designed specifically for farms, smallholdings, building sites, and remote properties where the camera needs both cellular connectivity and active steerable monitoring.
Pair it with a solar power kit for fully off-grid standalone operation. Insert a SIM from any major South African network (MTN, Vodacom, Cell C, Telkom, Rain). Drive the camera from your phone wherever you have internet. The cellular PTZ for properties that cannot host a fixed-line installation.
What this camera is actually good at
- Built-in 4G LTE modem with standard SIM card slot.
- Pan, tilt, and digital zoom in a compact outdoor unit.
- Native cellular connectivity. No router or fixed-line internet required.
- Hik-Connect mobile app integration. Live view, pan and tilt control, recorded footage playback over the cellular connection.
- Local microSD recording. Footage stored on the camera; no NVR required.
- Solar-power compatible. Pairs with the Hikvision Solar Caddy for fully off-grid operation.
- Built-in microphone and speaker for two-way audio over cellular.
- IP67 weather-sealed housing.
- IR illumination for night coverage.
Where this camera belongs
- Farms and smallholdings watching gates, pump houses, and equipment sheds remotely
- Building and construction sites needing steerable coverage where fixed internet has not been installed
- Holiday homes and cabins in remote coastal or bushveld locations
- Off-grid solar installations as standalone steerable monitoring
- Remote vacant land being watched ahead of development or sale
- Agricultural infrastructure like irrigation pump houses and water tanks
Important: data costs add up
4G PTZ cameras consume more data than fixed cameras because steering and zoom operations require continuous network communication, and live PTZ viewing streams more data than static camera viewing. We typically configure these cameras for event-based recording with manual remote drive sessions, keeping monthly data costs reasonable. Continuous live streaming over 4G can run into hundreds of rands per month in data alone.
Solar power: the natural pairing
- The Solar Caddy 100S-BR is the smaller-capacity solar power kit suitable for moderate-usage cellular cameras.
- The Solar Caddy 200S-BR is the larger-capacity option for cellular PTZ cameras and more demanding installations.
If you want a fixed (non-PTZ) cellular camera
- The DS-2CFS04/4G is the fixed cellular bullet alternative. Lower cost, no steerable capability, lower data consumption.
Recorder pairings
This camera typically operates as a standalone unit with local microSD recording, accessed via Hik-Connect mobile app over cellular. For sites with both 4G cameras and fixed-line infrastructure, the DS-7104NI-Q1 or DS-7104NI-Q1/4P can integrate cellular cameras alongside wired ones for unified monitoring.
Specialist setup for specialist sites
4G cellular PTZ requires careful setup: SIM provisioning, APN configuration, data-usage management, mobile alert configuration, and (in solar installations) battery and panel sizing for the local conditions. We do that work as standard, with site visits available across Pretoria East, Centurion, Midrand, Johannesburg, and the surrounding rural areas.
